1. The Los Angeles Art Show
For over a decade The Los Angeles Art Show has featured amazing works of art. Ranging from paintings and sculptures to photographs and videos, the diverse range of art draws in something for anyone to enjoy. Taking place annually at the end of January, the art show is one of the main festivities of celebrate Los Angeles Arts Month.
2. CAA 100th Annual Conference
The College Art Association comes to the Los Angeles Convention Center to bring thousands of people interested, involved, and working in the visual arts. The conference will showcase art history sessions, career workshops, tours and exhibitions taking place in southern California. This year is College Art Association’s 100th Annual Conference.
3. Newport Beach Film Festival
Over 350 films from 40 different countries will be shown throughout the city. Film goers can enjoy the city recreational activities, dining and shopping as well as have the opportunity to meet the filmmakers.
4. Aphrodite and the Gods of Love
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, teams with the J. Paul Getty Museum to feature an exhibition that explores Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love. On display will be sculptures, jewelry and other pieces of art.
5. Sawdust Art Festival's Annual Summer Show
This annual summer show featured by Sawdust will exhibit over 200 Laguna Beach artists. Displayed will be fine art and craft which will include photography, sculptures, paintings, jewelry and much more. Along with the exhibitions there will be an art workshop and a live art demonstration.
6. Malibu Arts Festival
Taking place near the end of July, the Malibu Arts Festival displays a beautiful outdoor art festival. There will be over 200 fine art exhibits which will feature award winning sculptors, photographers, painters and jewelers.
7. The 28th American Wine & Food Festival
The American Wine & Food Festival comes back to host the world's top chefs and wine and spirit purveyors. The event supports the Meals On Wheels Programs of Los Angeles and thus far has raised more than $15million. This year the festival will host for the first time a pre-party "An Evening on the Beach". Over 2,700 guests will enjoy food and beverage from talented chefs.
8. The 2011 La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
This Art & Wine Festival brings together art, food, and fun for anyone to enjoy. The event takes places to help three public schools in the La Jolla. All the proceeds of the function help to fund programs such as art, music, and science in the public schools.
9. Santa Barbara Festival of Art and Jazz
Being on the many festivals in Santa Barbara, this festival celebrates the diverse culture in the region and brings together art, music, food and wine for all to enjoy.
10. The Downtown Burbank ARTS Festival
Over 30,000 art enthusiasts attend one of the largest art events that takes place in the area. With more than 100 artists displaying sculptures, paintings, ceramics, and more, attendees can enjoy the art as well as the live entertainment as they roam about this outdoor festival.
11. Pacific Symphony with Michael W. Smith
Michael W. Smith partners with Pacific Symphony in Orange County to sing some of his many hits and Christmas anthems. A Grammy Award winning sinner with over 13 million albums sold, this will be an event to enjoy.
12. The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, Debbie Allen Dance Academy at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus
Debbie Allen Dance Academy presents The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker for a second year with a successful debut in 2010. The production incorporates different styles of dance and brings a fresh taste to a classic story.
